About This Festival
Abrazos Tango Festival runs on 13 November 2026 in New York City, United States.
This festival draws inspiration from the non-linear nature of tango and Julio Cortázar's novel Hopscotch, exploring how both emphasize improvisation and moment-to-moment decisions between partners. Like the novel's structure, tango uses form as a foundation while meaning emerges through breaking and bending those patterns. Over the weekend, the festival examines the interplay between freedom and form, choice and encounter, and certainty and discovery through dance.
